The ProSoft MVI69-MCM Modbus Network Interface Module is a CompactLogix inRAx Modbus RTU Master/Slave Communication Module, which provides means of interface between the Allen Bradley PACs (Programmable Automation Controllers) and the MicroLogix Programmable Logic Controllers (1769-LRP) with Modbus connected compatible devices. This module allows for High-speed data transmission between the module and the Controller’s processor, and it supports ProSoft Configuration Builder (PCB) software and Studio 5000 programming software for integrating, configuration, and viewing communication/network diagnostics. The MVI69-MCM is installed on a single chassis slot of the 1769 Chassis, and it uses the Ladder Logic for quick and seamless transfer of data between the module and a processor. The MVI69-MCM draws an 800 milli-Ampere maximum backplane current at 5 Volts DC.

It has an RS-232 CFG port which does not support handshaking configuration, and it also has 2 RS-232 Application ports (P1 and P2) which support Handshaking protocol and with 500 volts optical isolation from the backplane. This module is shipped with an RJ-45 (DB-9F) cable and RJ-45 to DB-9M configuration cables, and it has a front panel LED indicators which shows battery, application, and serial port status. The MVI69-MCM has a data transmission rate of 110 Kilo baud to 115 Kilobaud, with None, Even, or Odd parity selection and data are transmitted in Floating Point Data Format. It supports the Master/Slave communication protocol, and the configuration data is a text file supplied directly to the module. The MVI69-MCM has an operating temperature range of 0 to 60 degree Celsius (32 to 140 degree Fahrenheit) at 5% to 95% non-condensing relative humidity range, and it is GOST-R, DNV, c-UL-us, and CE approved.
